Digital Media & Art: Collaboration, Collision or Collusion?
Posted on January 29th, 2013 by Avonova

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE January 28, 2013

Stratford, ON – Avonova, Stratford’s technology association, is staging
a mixed media moment on the collaboration, collision and collusion
between art and digital technology on Tuesday, February 5th, 7-9PM.

NOTE: The medium for this month’s event is Stratford’s working creative
space, Factory 163 at 163 King St., south parking lot entrance.

After a bit of time to mingle and catch up with one another, Bob Telfer
is presenting the obsessive-immersive artistic qualities of 3 visually
striking computer games that blend escape and interaction, reality and
virtuality.

We’ll also have 5 digitally engaged artists on hand to display their
work and comment on how digital media affects their processes and
results in fine art, collage, digital publishing, photography, and
transmedia.

Then 3 of Stratford’s creative drivers will push our understanding of
technology’s Best Supporting Role:

  • Craig Thompson, Ballinran Productions
  • Elissa Horscroft, Technical Director, Avon Theatre
  • Jason Clarke, Digital Media Producer, Stratford Festival

The public is invited. Admission is free. The bar isn’t.

Next month: Tue.Mar.5th, University of Waterloo MDEI students will
showcase their digital media creations and experiences in this
groundbreaking program.

AVONOVA is for technology-minded people living or working in the Stratford
area – we work with technology because it’s exciting, and we love living and
working in Stratford. AVONOVA is about interesting people, challenging
ideas and technology culture.
