Avonova's Quantum Computing Kickoff
Stratford Country Club at 12:00 AM on September 10th, 2013
Stratford, ON – Avonova, Stratford’s technology group is launching the 2013/14 season with a special guest speaker who will introduce us to the quantum world that Einstein described as “spooky”. Friendly advice to get you started: Let go of what you know.
Martin Laforest, Senior Manager Scientific Outreach at the Institute for Quantum Computing, University of Waterloo, will share how researchers at IQC are exploring and taming the quantum world to transform the ways we compute, communicate and live. Harnessing quantum mechanics will lead to transformational technologies that will benefit society and become a new engine of economic development in the 21st century.
So join us at 7PM Tuesday, September 10th (a week later than usual due to the long
weekend) in the President’s Lounge of the Stratford Country Club. We are also inviting Stratford’s IT and Physics high school teachers and students for the experience.
Avonova has a full slate of engaging and informative sessions planned for this, their sixth season, including Digital Agriculture, Arts Meets Techs, Industrial-‐size Nanotechnology, Turbocharge Your Startup, open-‐floor sessions for pitching ’n’ bitching … and one of the
most interesting groups in town for striking up a conversation.
